Wonders of creation from the darkness of the earth 

Since his childhood Sebastian Stoll, inspired by his father Manfred Stoll, has been collecting agate, jasper and crystal in Hunsrück and Rheinhessen.
The unique shapes, colors and structures inside these gemstones have fascinated him from an early age. For him, they manifest the universal elemental forces and laws of the cosmos that caused them to form in volcanic rock 290 million years ago.
From enlargements of their inner structures, he creates unique images and art objects by playing with digital media, which show the essence of the stones, their soul. He calls these artistic "stone views" Lithoviso.
The Lithoviso pictures invite you to take your time to dive into the mysterious inner worlds of the gemstones. They show the diversity of creation and are full of large and small figures, shapes and symbols to discover and experience.
All pictures were created from stones found by the artist in the area around Idar-Oberstein and in Rheinhessen.
